Operation and use:

1. Do I need to install the Safetytracer equipment?

The Safetytracer works easily and without installations. On site you will find the manual of the device. It describes the different functions on the device. To log on the device and connect it to the emergency services provider(s), you need to go to the 'Mopas portal'. Here you will find manuals for each category, with a step-by-step explanation of what needs to be done. www.safetytracer.eu/about-us/downloads

Supplies: laptop, PC, tablet or smartphone with a working internet connection.

2. Do I need a SIM card or can I use my own SIM card?

You do not need a SIM card for the alarm transmitter. The equipment is equipped with its own SIM chip. The chip can receive signals from all over the world. At the moment, the chip is only activated for Europe. As long as the monthly subscription costs are paid, your Safetytracer equipment is connected.

*If you choose the alarm app with printer, it will use your SIM card in your smartphone. Even then you do not need a separate SIM card.

3. How long does the battery last?

With normal use (default settings) the battery of the alarm transmitter will last at least 36 hours. We advise you to charge the equipment daily, just like your mobile phone. Please note: if you use fall detection and/or movement area, this has an impact on battery life. In this case, the battery will last approximately 24 hours.

4. How do I know when the battery is empty?

Two hours before the battery of the alarm transmitter is replaced, the green LED light changes to a flashing blue light. In the 'Mopas portal' you can see exactly what the status of the battery is.

5. On which telephone networks does the equipment work?

The Safetytracer alarm transmitter works on every mobile phone network in Europe. So you can be sure of the best range, wherever you live, wherever you go. Because the equipment works via a data plan, you can always sound the alarm, even if you can no longer use your mobile phone. You only need to be in contact with one network.

The alarm app works via your smartphone and therefore depends on the connection of your smartphone.

6. How does fall detection work?

The fall detection of the Safetytracer alarm transmitter works in combination with non-movement. This means that after a fall, an automatic alarm is only triggered when the user no longer moves for a certain period of time. If the user is still able to move during this period, he or she can make an alarm manually. This prevents false alarms. To guarantee reliability, you should wear the Safetytracer alarm transmitter around your neck or on your hip.

7. Is the device waterproof?

No, the device is splashproof. This means that the device can withstand slight contact with water. For example, the device cannot withstand heavy rainfall.

Alarm:

1. What happens if I sound the alarm?

As soon as you have sounded the alarm, the SafetyTracer equipment immediately notifies your emergency service provider(s) by making a notification on their telephone. The equipment sends them your location so they know exactly where you are. The rescuer will be asked to answer the call. The first person to accept the report creates a direct call connection. Just like calling, but at the push of a button. If your emergency services do not respond immediately, the report will continue to be repeated to all emergency services every 5 minutes. As long as the alarm has not been dealt with, no new alarm can be created by the user.

2. What if I accidentally activate the alarm?

To activate the alarm, press and hold the alarm button for 3 seconds. When you activate the alarm, an audible alarm will sound and your equipment will start flashing red. Then you always have a few seconds to deactivate the alarm. No problem at all. To deactivate the alarm, press the switch-off button.

With the alarm app, you can deactivate the alarm immediately by pressing the alarm button on the screen until you see the message that the alarm has been withdrawn.

3. What happens if no one answers an alarm?

If after 5 minutes the alarm has not been claimed by anyone or has been refused by every rescuer, the alarm will go off again at all rescuers.

4. Can the Safetytracer equipment also communicate with an emergency centre?

No, this is not possible. Safetytracer is a signalling system and not comparable to a 112 emergency centre.

5. What if I have accidentally cancelled my alarm, but still need to sound the alarm?

If you cancel the alarm by mistake, that's no problem. You will need to hold the alarm button again for 3 seconds.

6. Does the rescuer need to have an internet connection to receive an alarm?

The Safetytracer app requires an internet connection in order to receive (alarm) notifications. If your rescuer does not have an internet connection, he or she will receive the 

alarm notification only when an internet connection has been established again.

Nowadays, many people have a continuous internet connection abroad. If this is not the case, you can easily invite a new social worker by logging into the 'Mopas portal'.

1. How does the peripherals work?

The peripherals can be purchased in combination with the Safetytracer alarm transmitter. Via the 'Mopas portal, you can link the peripherals. On the site you will find the manual about this. This describes step-by-step how you can connect the peripherals to your Safetytracer alarm transmitter.

With the alarm app with pusher it is not possible to link peripherals.

2. Can I also connect the Safetytracer equipment with other peripherals?

Because Safetytracer communicates on a separate frequency with the peripherals, you can only connect Safetytracer equipment with the peripherals that Safetytracer offers.

1. What does the Safetytracer equipment cost?

The Mopas-Lite itself costs 100 euros. The monthly subscription fee is 14.50 euros. Other prices can be requested by phone or e-mail. Saving the alarm does not cost any extra money. Not even when you are abroad. The Safetytracer equipment works throughout Europe.

1. Can my staff always see where I am?

No, your emergency services will only be informed of your exact location if you sound the alarm. Do you want your emergency services to be able to see your location at all times? The Safetytracer app does offer the possibility to request the last seen location.

2. Can I change my emergency services in the meantime?

4. How can I use the movement area?

The creation of a movement area, also called geo-fence, is also done in the 'Mopas portal'. It is important that the made geo-fence is actually coupled and switched on with it.

The Safetytracer app for your emergency services:

1. Do my emergency services need a smartphone in order to be notified in the event of an alarm?

In order to report an alarm, the emergency services provider needs a smartphone. If your Safetytracer equipment is connected to your care worker's smartphone, he or she will receive a report (visually and audibly) via the app and your care worker will immediately see where you are on a map.

2. On which phones can I use the Safetytracer app?

For the iPhone, a Safetytracer app is available that works from iPhone 4 and beyond with the operating system iOS 7.1 or higher. The app can be downloaded from the app store.

For Android devices, a Safetytracer app is available that works on Android phones with Android version 4.1 and higher. The Android app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
